I’ve had the incredible honour of being invited to speak at the first ever IP Symposium organized by the International Cannabis Bar Association.

Join us at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, September 28 – 29, 2023. This opportunity to share insights & knowledge with esteemed colleagues; Dr. Dale C Hunt – Patent Attorney & Dr. Anja Geitmann – Dean, Faculty of Agriculture at McGill. The university Research Centre for Cannabis is a pillar within the French territory & wider Canadian context.

I’m looking forward to discussing cannabis biology, chemistry and cultivation. The foundation for safeguarding, implementing & enforcing canna IP on an international level.

I will be visiting a few facilities within #Montreal and environs. My former colleague, Chris Chackal recently received approval for a micro cultivation by Health Canada in #Quebec. Chris, & I both served as Head Growers at a 480, 000 sq ft operations in New Brunswick, #Canada, in 2019. Let’s continue to wish him success in procuring craft quality within his home province market.

Don’t hesitate to connect & collaborate if you would like to solicit free independent advice during my visit. I also enjoy giving back and paying ganja community service to elevate our heritage & improve economic development outcomes.

  1. What are the main challenges facing businesses in terms of cannabis IP protection?
  2. Are breeders rights & canna equipment/tech even worth trademark and patent registration?
  3. Is the lack of experts in patent claims drafting and lack of awareness of IP rights among SMEs pose a hindrance for successful IP litigation?
  4. Are you neglecting to register your IP or underestimating the value of your IP? Can this be considered a common misjudgment?

I am always looking to learn, reconnect and grow with my network for an inclusive & holistic developmental end result.
